Vega Sicilia stands as a towering icon in the world of fine wine, widely regarded as Spain’s most prestigious and historically significant estate. Founded in 1864 in the Ribera del Duero region, Vega Sicilia has achieved near-mythical status through its commitment to excellence, traditional winemaking methods, and the age-worthiness of its flagship wine: Único. Crafted from old-vine Tempranillo blended with Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Único is celebrated for its depth, complexity, and longevity—often aged for a decade or more before release. The estate helped elevate Ribera del Duero to global prominence and remains a benchmark not just for Spanish wine, but for collectors and connoisseurs around the world. Vega Sicilia’s influence reaches far beyond its borders, inspiring generations of winemakers and earning its place alongside the most revered names in wine history.

Joining for this fantastic evening are two towering figures of the wine world: Pablo Álvarez, CEO of Vega Sicilia, traveling from Spain; and good friend of Nashville Wine Auction, Jamie Pollack, Managing Director of Acker Wines.

Not only will they taste these iconic wines with perfect pairings, they will also be guided by the experts with the stories behind the wine, the vintages and the label.

This Buy-A-Spot lot treats 12 lucky Tempranillo fanatics to an exclusive dinner and tasting at The Iberian Pig in Nashville, the ideal setting for a Spanish wine dinner. Dinner this evening is compliments of Acker Wines, the largest global wine auction house and the world’s destination for fine and rare wine.

The evening begins with a Pre-Tasting Reception featuring Vega Sicilia Único vintages 2003 through 2010, paired with elegant canapés. This warm-up is only the beginning. Dinner will follow with five exquisite courses, each served alongside a curated vertical of Único—spanning the rarest and most collectible vintages of the 20th century.
