An Evening In La-La Land

Let’s set the scene for this dream of a dinner, shall we? Rachel and Jeffrey Mitchell, along with Gabriela Lira and Jonas Sjögren, invite the winning bidders of this lot to step into a world where Old Hollywood elegance meets the irresistible allure of E. Guigal’s legendary La-La bottlings. We’re calling it An Evening in La-La Land—an immersive, one-night-only experience for lovers of wine, film, and gastronomy.

Hosted in the intimate, candlelit dining room of Rachel and Jeffrey’s magnificent home—draped in velvet and shadow—this private dinner will transport guests into a cinematic reverie. The air will hum with smoky jazz—Miles Davis and noir film scores playing like dialogue from a black-and-white reel—as they sip through a vertical of some of the most legendary Syrahs ever made.

A full vertical of E. Guigal’s La-La wines—La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque—vintages 2002 through 2005, will be poured side-by-side in what can only be described as vinous cinema.

Acclaimed Chef Kevin Ramquist will design and prepare a multi-course, French-inspired tasting menu. Each dish will be paired with precision and introduced with narrative flair, tying together elements of Rhône terroir with classic noir themes. Expect dishes like:

Duck confit with blackberry reduction – “The Femme Fatale”
Black truffle risotto – “The Smoke-Filled Room”
Charcoal-seared beef tenderloin – “Final Scene in Shadow”
Dark chocolate and cassis mousse – “A Sweet Fade to Black”
As for attire, we invite you to channel your inner detective, muse, or matinée idol: tuxedos, pearls, red lips, slinky gowns, fedoras, and silk gloves. Think Casablanca meets Amélie—with a glass of La Turque in hand.

Four couples will join the hosts on Saturday, January 31, 2026 for this unique experience. This is more than a dinner. It’s a mood, a scene, a rare convergence of wine, storytelling, and timeless style.
