The Incomparable Indulgence In The Inner Circle

Experience a wine dinner in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Rotunda that represents the crème de la crème carefully culled from the cellar of Pam and Steve Taylor. On Saturday, February 3, 2024, 30 lucky bidders will get a seat at the table tasting the finest wines of France and California in this evening for the ages.

Our special guest and moderator for the evening will be Andy Chabot, Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage for Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain. During his 20 year tenure, Andy has overseen the development and growth of wine programs at Blackberry Farm resulting in James Beard Awards and Wine Spectator Grand Awards. Who better to share insights on tonight’s extraordinary line up of wines that the Wine Geek himself!

The evening begins with a glass of 2008 Krug Vintage. Described by Antonio Galloni as a “nervy, electrifying champagne, the likes of which has not emerged from Krug’s cellars since the magical 1996,” it is a fitting way for this exclusive group to begin the evening.

With your first seated course, you will be presented with a side-by-side line up that will make the most serious wine lovers weak in the knees: a 2017 Dagueneau Silex, a 2014 Haut-Brion Blanc and a 2018 Eisele Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.

Next up is a master course in the very best representation of Chardonnay:  a 2009 Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet, a 2014 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne and The Judge! The 2017 Kongsgaard, that is!

Bring the smelling salts quickly because the lucky members of the inner circle will be swooning over the third course as the Grape of Kings makes its appearance. Indeed, you will be drinking like kings as you sip the 1996 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Richebourg, next to the 2000 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils, Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes, next to California Pinot royalty, a 2012 Marcassin.

More wine please! Why yes there is but it is ONLY the four original first growths from the iconic 1996 vintage. “100 points!” says Robert Parker about the 1996 Margaux. The indulgence of enjoying a side-by-side tasting of Lafite-Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, and Haut-Brion is only for this very privileged inner circle.

But wait, there is more! The stars of California Cabernet come blazing in for your final savory course with this incomparable line up:  a 2010 Screaming Eagle, a 2012 Harlan, and a 2016 Scarecrow will make you realize you not only have a brain but you used in wisely when you raised your paddle for to be a part of this dinner.

And finally, to end the perfect evening of indulgence in wine and food, the 2001 Yquem. “The greatest Yquem I have ever tasted” says James Suckling. “It is among a very small clutch of incredible wines that crash through the 100-point ceiling and rocket beyond the stratosphere,” says Lisa Perrotti-Brown.
