On January 11, 2025, Nashville Wine Auction presents The Illustrious Lustrum dinner! For those who aren’t up to date on your historical Roman terminology, allow us to offer a definition to illuminate the evening’s festivities.
lus·trum /ˈləstrəm/ noun
Roman History: a period of five years
Basically, in Roman times, a census was taken every five years on years that ended in 0 or 5. A period of five years is also called a quinquennial, but “illustrious quinquennial” doesn’t really roll off the tongue.
We’re celebrating vintages in true lustrum fashion with bottles from 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020. What a perfect way to ring in 2025!
Now for the illustrious part of the evening, the setting, food, and lineup of wines are as celebrated and glorious as they get!
We’ll set the stage at the home of Loren Chumley and Scott Peterson. Loren’s approach to holiday décor can only be described as “too much is never enough.” The 14 Christmas trees will still be shining brightly as everyone raises their glass in celebration of the quinquennial.
Chefs Michaella and Ryder Zetts will bedazzle with food pairings for the evening. This couple have spent 60 years combined working in the industry including under three different 3-star Michelin chefs at restaurants you might be familiar with: The French Laundry, Restaurant at Meadowood, and The Inn at Little Washington. Both chefs have worked throughout the US – Ryder was chef d’cuisine at Sol Bar when it received its own Michelin star. The couple moved to the Nashville area for Ryder to open and run The Optimist. Michaella and Ryder now run Sourdoughs of Somerset – if you are not following them on Facebook, you are missing out.
Check out the wine lineup and tell us that doesn’t just scream ~illustrious~. Trust us, the winning bidders will be positively dazzled by this wine dinner.
