Our beloved friends Kelly and Noah Dorrance of Reeve Wines have joined forces with Three Sticks Wines, DuMOL, Mauritson, and several other rockstar vintners to create a trip for the ages.
For the high bidder on this lot, Nashville Wine Auction will book your trip and Eclectic Tour will be the driver for three days of your tasting itinerary. The trip has to begin on a Monday, and here’s how it will unfold:
Arrive at your luxurious accommodations in the Reeve Wines Villa. Located on a magical 55-acre property with sweeping views of the Dry Creek Valley floor, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom luxury villa is just ten minutes from downtown Healdsburg. You get all the charming amenities of country life—stars, peace, beauty, views, farm animals—while being only minutes away from the bustle of Healdsburg and surrounding wine country and outdoor activities.
The villa has four king bedrooms, three full bathrooms with showers, DirecTV, WIFI, SONOS, three gas fireplaces, a wine cellar, media room, washer and dryer, and a full kitchen with a prep area. The outdoor living space has a pool, hot tub, covered patio with a wood-burning fireplace, and full kitchen.
After you get settled, you’ll play host to Kelly and Noah Dorrance, the husband and wife collaborative team behind Reeve Wines. They will join you, along with a private chef, for a dinner featuring Reeve: small-production wines crafted from fruit grown on their estate and sourced from some of the most coveted vineyards in Northern California. Launched in 2015, Reeve Wines is an exploration of Noah’s love for California wines with verve and intensity, produced from land that tells a story. What began as a creative outlet to complement the runaway success of Banshee Wines, the wine label Noah started with friends in 2009, soon grew to be something so singular it refused to be relegated to a side project. With Reeve Wines, Kelly and Noah have developed exceptional relations with farmers who own and work some of the most coveted, single-vineyard sites in Northern California. Their passion and hard work have yielded exceptional, critically acclaimed wines.
Hooray, Tuesday is Three Sticks day! Nestled at the top of the Sonoma Coast appellation, Gap’s Crown stands as the crown jewel among California Grand Cru Pinot Noir vineyards in the storied Three Sticks vineyard portfolio. Acquired by Bill Price in late 2013, the 406-acre Gap’s Crown Vineyard has become an icon of the Sonoma Coast, consistently yielding Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of exceptional quality.
Three Sticks is delighted to extend this rare privilege for Pairings bidders. This vineyard experience is a truly exclusive affair, a never-before, never-again opportunity, as Gap’s Crown is not typically accessible to the public. You are cordially invited to partake in a once-in-a-lifetime vineyard journey at Gap’s Crown, featuring an enlightening tour led by Vice President of Vineyards, Rob Harris, a dedicated steward who has been cultivating the land for nearly 15 years.
During this unique experience, you’ll explore the nuances of the property with the individual intimately connected to its cultivation. Following the Gap’s Crown excursion, head to the Three Stick’s home, The Adobe, nestled in the heart of Sonoma. There, you will continue the journey with a delightful lunch and a curated exploration of exquisite Estate Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, providing you with an immersive taste of the unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication that defines Three Sticks Wines.
The remainder of your afternoon can be spent browsing downtown Sonoma. Did you know that the town of Sonoma is home to California’s largest town square? Now you know. Sonoma Plaza is surrounded by historic buildings, great restaurants, art galleries, and dozens of winery tasting rooms—all of which can be found on a leisurely stroll.
Spend the morning with DuMOL! Founded in 1996, DuMOL Winery crafts highly nuanced, vineyard-focused Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays from distinctive sites in the cool-climate Russian River Valley. Winemaker, Viticulturist, and Partner, Andy Smith, leads a small and experienced team, making wines of depth, clarity, and elegance through attention to detail in the vineyards. DuMOL believes the best fertilizer is the footsteps of the farmer and is dedicated to a portfolio of estate and grower-partner vineyards primarily within a 10-mile radius.
While at DuMOL you’ll experience an exclusive vineyard walk (not offered to the public) at the estate vineyards in the Russian River Valley, followed by a private tasting and lunch at the winery in Windsor. With Brand Ambassador and Advanced Sommelier Jill Davis as your guide, you’ll experience DuMOL’s limited-production wines in an exceptional, personalized way. She will share both the select wines and their stories, connecting you with the land and people behind the wines.
Next up is an appointment with the “Pinot Noir Power Couple” from Morét-Braelynn and Clarice Wines. Morét-Braelynn Chavez and Adam Lee each helm their individual wine labels, and together they are the dynamic Pinot Noir duo! Adam, formerly of Siduri wines, now makes Pinot Noir for his company Clarice. Morét brings her background at Kosta Browne and HALL Wines to the table with her eponymous label Morét-Braelynn. Although they are often seen together, they don’t ever offer tastings together. This special tasting of their spectacular Pinot Noirs will take place at Grand Cru Custom Crush in Napa.
Today you can look forward to getting wild and rugged in the Rockpile appellation. Carrie and Clay Mauritson of Mauritson Wines will greet you at their winery located in the beautiful Dry Creek Valley and, after a refreshing welcome wine, they will take you on the scenic drive through the valley to one of their Rockpile vineyards overlooking Lake Sonoma. Clay’s family has a long history in the region, and he will share many family stories as you stand on the very ground where their original ranch was located dating back to 1868!
Lunch will be a delicious selection of provisions with many items from local purveyors. And since Rockpile is Zinfandel country, you will be sipping the spectacular single-vineyard Zinfandels grown in the surrounding vineyards, as well as other lovely Mauritson wines.
After lunch you’ll visit Pairings Veterans Bucher Vineyard in Russian River Valley. Enjoy the estate-grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé with a winery tour and tasting with charcuterie at the Bucher home.
Introducing Innumero Wines and a not to be missed experience! Innumero Wines is a boutique producer with an annual case volume of less than 1000. Crafting small production wines made from some of the highest quality Sonoma County growers available is their hallmark. Join Innumero Wines founders, Sheree and Brian Thornsberry, for a private VIP experience at their home. There, they will pair their wines with a specially curated 4-course dinner prepared by a wine country chef. There may even be a few corks pulled from the private cellar built over the past 20 years of drinking wine in multiple regions globally!
Say goodbye to your luxury villa and new friends in Sonoma. You can continue your wine country adventures or return to Nashville… Either way, Sonoma is now a part of your soul and you’ll have memories to last a lifetime.
