Lot Details

This three Michelin-starred restaurant is the only restaurant to maintain a four-star rating from The New York Times for more than 20 years and has received more James Beard Foundation Awards than any other restaurant in New York City. Most recently, Le Bernardin was named the #1 restaurant in the world by La Liste, the global restaurant guide and ranking system of the world’s top 1,000 restaurants. Aldo Sohm, Best Sommelier in the World in 2008, will provide an expertly curated evening that will take you around the world of wine.

You’ll start in Champagne with a bottle of 2007 Salon. Once your taste buds are properly tingling, you’ll head over to northwest Burgundy in the land of Chablis with Raveneau’s 2017 Valmur Chablis. Next, head southeast to Golden Slopes of Burgundy for a stunning bottle of Dujac’s 2002 Echezeaux, a full-bodied feat. Your palate will be absolutely thrilled, but there’s even more tantalizing! Travel a bit further up the Côte de Nuits and sip on Rousseau’s 2016 Charmes Chambertin. The heavenly aromas will surely drive you mad. Up next, you’ll shift to Italy’s elegant Piemonte hills for a Barbaresco from Gaja that will knock your socks off: 1982 Sorì San Lorenzo.

Next up, the New World. First is a 1985 Heitz Cellar Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon that aged slowly and beautifully to perfection. Next is a bottle of 1991 Dominus, a delicate yet powerful, potentially perfect wine. We’ll let you be the judge there. You’re likely to be in a state of nirvana at this stage, but you’ve got one final treat. You guessed it, Yquem.

Rounding out the evening with an extravagant bottle of the 1990 vintage is just the thing to cap off an exquisite culinary wine experience. Chef Éric Ripert will be preparing some of the best food you’ve ever had in your life, perfectly in sync with the evening’s superb wines. Opportunities like this aren’t just offered to anyone. Le Bernardine rarely, if ever, allows wine to be brought into the restaurant, so we’re fortunate that Jamie and Acker have arranged this special invitation to our Nashville Wine Auction patrons.
