Lot Details

When cardiologist Dr. Madaiah Revana, proprietor of the fabulously successful Revana Estate Winery in Napa Valley, met Lynn Penner-Ash, jewel of the Oregon Pinot Noir scene, it was a match made in heaven. The duo began a search for both the ideal piece of land and an experienced winemaker to produce Pinot Noir that could rival those from Burgundy. His search ended with an 80-acre estate and hired none other than Lynn herself as his first winemaker.

Thus, Alexana Winery was born. Dr. Revana’s vision of producing site-specific wines from truly exceptional vineyards was grown even stronger. Every one of Alexana’s wines is driven by each vineyard’s unique site-specific climate and terroir. Current winemaker Bryan Weil’s artfully restrained approach to winemaking allows each vintage to tell the vineyard’s story of the growing season. He utilizes our gravity-flow winemaking facility and employs a delicate fermentation process with small lot fermentations and native yeasts. He pays attention to every detail to craft texture-driven wines of purity, sophistication, balance, and elegance.

WINES:

Alexana Best Block Block 18 Pinot Noir 2020 (3L)
- Every vintage we farm, pick, sort, ferment and age each of the 26 blocks of Pinot Noir on our estate vineyard separately. Our winemaking team then selects the top 4 barrels from a one to two-acre parcel that they felt produced the highest quality wines of the vintage. In 2020, Block 8 – Clone 777 was chosen for this wine.

Alexana Signature Pinot Noir 2020 (5L)
- Hand-crafted from carefully selected barrels throughout the aging process. Each barrel is chosen for their extraordinary texture and concentration, and they blend seamlessly together to create our most elegant expression of Pinot Noir. Signature Pinot Noir is elegant in style and the composition is made up of fruit from some of our most mature vines on the estate.

Alexana Estate Pinot Noir 2020 (9L) 
- For this wine, individual barrels are selected from their small-production ‘Single Vineyard’ Pinot Noir program with the intention of seamlessly bringing together 4 distinct ‘Terroirs’ to create a unique bottling of ‘Willamette Valley’ Pinot Noir. Each vineyard block is dry farmed. The grapes are individually berry sorted and fermented separately in small batches with native yeasts before resting in French oak barrels for 10 months. The vineyards sourced are the Revana Vineyard – Dundee Hills AVA, Fennwood Vineyard – Yamhill Carlton AVA, Crawford Beck Vineyard – Eola Amity AVA and Zena Crown Vineyard – Eola Amity AVA.
