Sir Peter Michael knows exactly what it means to be knighted, as he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1989 in recognition of his contribution to British industry. When Sir Peter first tried a California Chardonnay (the same one which later won the Judgment of Paris in fact), it ignited a passion in him to create terroir-driven wines of unsurpassed quality, as rich and singular as the California land itself.
Sir Peter found the perfect property in, you’ll never believe this… the Knight’s Valley region of Calistoga. At that moment, Sir Peter says, it was love at first sight. “When I looked at the creek, looked at the mountain, listened to the noise of the birds, I thought this is the most extraordinary place on earth. But I couldn’t have imagined just how well it would work and how lucky I was to have found it. Plus, it was the KNIGHT’S VALLEY for Pete’s sake, it had to be fate!”
If we really could bestow knighthood to wines, Peter Michael Winery is totally deserving. The wines are notable, substantial, and worthy of such an honor. Who wants to help us knight them on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the home of Loren Chumley and Scott Peterson? To celebrate, Peter Michael Winemaker Robert Fiore will be on hand along with Chef Joe Townsend who will provide a pairing fit for royalty as we taste through a lineup of Peter Michael’s finest bottlings.
There are only 20 lucky attendees, so be sure to bid early! Huzzah!
