Odette Estate Winery
With their successes at PlumpJack and CADE Estate Wineries, Partners Gavin Newson, Gordon Getty and John Conover purchased a historic property in the Stags Leap District in 2011. Odette encapsulates the inspiration for the property – femininity, strength and power.
In addition to being a pivotal character penned by Shakespeare, Proust, and Tchaikovsky in Swan Lake, Odette was the name of one of the French judges at the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976 when a Stags Leap District red wine beat out the French competition to take top honors.
The estate is the paragon of organic winemaking as the small, state-of-the-art building is one of just a handful of wineries to feature a living green roof, adorned with grasses and plants and 2,500 square feet of solar panels. The winemaking laboratory is constructed from recycled shipping containers and is the only one of its kind in the
Napa Valley. Winemaker, Jeff Owens, made history in 2015 by being awarded 100 points from Wine Advocate for Odette Estate’s inaugural release – the first winemaker to do so in an inaugural release and the first wine for a wine bottled under a screwcap.
Odette wines express the feminine quality of Stags Leap District Cabernets, and are a shining example of this beloved region. With its contemporary architecture paired with a modern stance on environmental responsibility, Odette is symbolic of the future of Stags Leap.
