LOT 111 | A Treasure Trove of Grand Cru Burgundy
Featured on live auction at approximately 7:30 pm
We’re bringing Grand Cru to our grand crew. With high roller names like Leflaive, Faiveley, Ponsot, Clos de Tart, and Jadot, just to name a few, this is yet another legendary lot with some of the biggest names in Burgundy.
You probably know that Grand Cru is a coveted title, but just how coveted? These vineyards make up just 2% of Burgundy’s 28,000 hectares of wine-producing lands, making the rank of Grand Cru one of the most elusive in the wine world. With history dating back more than 2000 years, Burgundy’s terroir has been sculpted over millennia, making their wine consistently in high demand in the auction world.
Bottles like these are amongst the hardest to come by, and this lot has 27 bottles including two of only eight monopoles (Clos des Cortons Faiveley and Clos de Tart). So whether you’re on team Corton-Charlemagne or Batard-Montrachet, Echezeaux or Bonnes-Mares (or mostly likely just team Grand Cru), we have bottles that will pique the interest of every Burgundy aficionado in the virtual bidding room. The list speaks for itself, so we will let it do the talking (psst, it’s telling you to bid).
This wine lot includes*:
