Gloria & Steve Pignatiello
Gloria & Steve Pignatiello of P. Comms Int’l have cultivated personal relationships with top winemakers from Burgundy and Champagne, which gives them access to some of the most exclusive wines in these regions. These are not the highly marketed, widely available wines found throughout the US; these are the special wines made by small, single-family winemakers… and many of them are not otherwise available outside of France.
Steve traveled to France as a Dartmouth College student in 1979. Over the past 43 years, he has gained a comprehensive knowledge of the country, specifically Burgundy and Champagne, and has become friends with some highly respected winemakers. They give him access to the wines in their personal cellars. His passion for and first-hand knowledge of their wines have earned him the nickname “The Burgundy Wine Man.”
In 2005, the French winemakers inducted Steve into the prestigious Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at the historic Chateau du Clos de Vougeot — one of the few Americans to have that honor. He has also served as the Vice Conseiller Gastronomique for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
Gloria and Steve’s dedication to the quality of their wines has made P. Comms Int’l one of the Southeast’s most respected wine importers. They are the reason we have such incredible producers at this year’s l’Eté du Vin. We are delighted to have them join us for this year’s festivities and moderate our Vintners’ Tasting!
