From one summer’s eve in 1980 until now, we have hosted wine events and auctions in the Nashville, TN area to raise money for the battle against cancer. What started with Un Eté du Vin, “A Summer of Wine,” has grown into a successful non-profit organization known as Nashville Wine Auction. Generosity of Spirit: The funds raised at our events are donated to non-profit organizations for cancer research, patient treatment and family support. Because we are passionate about our community, all of our proceeds stay in Tennessee. If you would love to partake in an evening of glamour, generosity, good cheer and great wine, consider one of our auction events:
This event SOLD at the Pairings 2016 auction.
This lot affords 10 lucky bidders the chance to taste a 16-year vertical of Penfolds Grange from the cellar of Pam and Steve Taylor. They will dine at Kayne Prime while sipping the 1995-2010 offerings from Penfolds.
Inspired by his visit to Bordeaux, Penfolds pioneering winemaker, Max Schubert, set out to create an Australian red wine to rival the world’s most famous wines. Emulating the ageability of some of the best first growth Bordeaux estates, Schubert worked meticulously, taking into account differing conditions such as climate, soil, raw material, and techniques.
And, boy, did he succeed… though not at first.
The first bottle of Penfolds Grange sold for $1 in 1951.
Obviously, the world got the memo and opinions have changed as the dynasty of wines today capture the imagination of each and every person who tastes it. Years of blood, sweat, and tears can be tasted in each glass from the experimental 1951 vintage all the way through the newest 2011 current release. It really is one of the world’s most consistent performing fine wines.

Chef Robert Grace is primed (see what we did there?) to offer impeccable food pairings for this magnificent collection of wine.
It is an extremely rare opportunity to taste a vertical of Penfolds Grange. It’s kind of like tasting a piece of Australian winemaking history.
