Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center is one of the nation’s top 10 cancer research programs and Middle Tennessee’s only Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, one of the National Institutes of Health. The Center is among the first in the nation to tailor therapy to individual patients based on changes in the tumor’s DNA and is advancing cancer care by making its My Cancer Genome online treatment decision-support tool available to researchers and doctors worldwide. In addition to lung cancers and melanoma, breast cancer patients are now offered genetically driven treatment through its Personalized Cancer Medicine Initiative. Vanderbilt-Ingram clinicians are helping to set the standard of cancer care through membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Its REACH for Survivorship Clinic is the only clinic dedicated to the care of cancer survivors regardless of age at diagnosis, type of cancer and where oncology treatment was received.
