Awestruck in Argentina: Luxury Wine Tour for Two Couples

Tango in Buenos Aires, sip and dine through Mendoza and the Uco Valley, and learn why this exciting land of gastronomy and passion is such an unforgettable destination for travelers. Two lucky couples will be transported to this magical place beloved by many. But be warned… Like other Nashvillians previously awestruck in Argentina, you may decide to pursue winemaking and purchase a vineyard while there!

Your trip is split evenly between Mendoza where you’ll experience wine appointments and Buenos Aires for cultural experiences. You can certainly expect luxury accommodations, exclusive appointments, and chances to experience Argentina like a local! Check out the itinerary below to see how your time in Argentina will unfold.

Day 1 – Mendoza Arrival and Agostino

Upon arrival in Mendoza, your bilingual guide will be waiting for you, and you’ll hit the ground running! Your first stop is Agostino Winery, where you’ll tour facilities and learn about their winemaking process. After the tour, head to the Finca Agostino restaurant and enjoy a 4-course lunch paired with Agostino wines.

After lunch, you will be transferred to your Mendoza accommodations, Entre Cielos. There they focus on wine and wellness to create memorable and immersive travel experiences that break the mold. Playful yet holistic, think of them as a perfect union of design, comfort, cuisine, and wellness, shared with like-minded travelers untethered by tradition, and fully in tune with nature. Each room features a private furnished terrace with sweeping views of the surrounding Malbec vineyards and countryside.

Day 2 – Exclusive with Corazon del Sol

Today you will be treated to a day with Corazon del Sol, in an exclusive, never-been-done-before experience.  You’ll arrive at Corazon del Sol in the morning for a 2-hour, private horseback ride into the Andes mountains. After the ride, you’ll get a private tour of the vineyard and estate property with the estate manager. But the pièce de résistance is the private Asado lunch experience with Estate manager Cristian Moor, and Winemaker Luciano Bastias. They’ll grill tons of meats and fill the table with great wines, Argentinian-family style. Expect them to share some special wine from the cellar as well.

Day 3 – Evolution of Wines

Today you will enjoy high-end boutique wineries in Lujan de Cuyo. The first appointment is with Viña Cobos Winery for a unique tasting experience. From its design in the vineyard to the vinification process, each step in their process contributes to creating truly exceptional wine experiences that last on the palate and in memory. Viña Cobos wines to be tasted include Zingaretti Estate Chardonnay, Hobbs Estate Malbec, Chañares Estate Cabernet Franc, Volturno, and Cobos Malbec. Each wine is accompanied by a specially paired small bite.

Your next stop is a special tasting lunch, featuring a 14-step historical menu and wine-pairing at Bodega Durigutti. This culinary tour showcases the evolution of wine from ancient times, its arrival in Argentina, European immigrants, and the influence of each era on wine and history.

Inspired by each wine and a moment in history, this 2024 Michelin Guide Selected Restaurant curated this experience to surprise you at every bite.

Day 4 – Buenos Dias Buenos Aires!

Start your day with a private transfer to the Mendoza airport where you’ll board your plane for a one-hour flight to Buenos Aires. You’ll then get another transfer to your next accommodations, Mio Buenos Aires.

MIO BUENOS AIRES stands apart as it was born of the idea of bringing the spirit of wine from Mendoza to Buenos Aires. The owners, descendants of a family of Italian immigrants, fourth generation winemakers, and above all wine lovers, wanted to bring the grape’s transformation journey from Mendoza, held in the grain of the family winery barrels. These can be found in the stunning six-meter-high doors made of French oak from wine barrels. Wine is in every corner of Mio Buenos Aires and its history. It brings the best of Mendoza to the city, offering an experience that stays in the memory, just like an Argentine Malbec.

Take the day to familiarize yourself to the Recoleta district and consider planning on a big meal for dinner. May we suggest that your tour guide book a reservation at the Michelin-starred Aramburu Resto for dinner? Here, chef Gonzalo Aramburu, who works the stoves alongside his team in a kitchen that overlooks the dining room, focuses on a single innovative tasting menu (around 18 courses) that combines innovation, technique, and aesthetics using the best Argentinian ingredients. Haute cuisine with an Argentinian soul!

Day 5 – Discovering the Soul of Buenos Aires

Today you explore the city of Buenos Aires observing its many contrasts. Start from the historical center, the Plaza de Mayo, with its emblematic buildings such as the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo, and the Cathedral. Continuing to the most Italian and colorful neighborhood of the city: La Boca, walk through the colorful streets learning about the history of the first Italian immigrants who inhabited the neighborhood. Continue through the historic center of San Telmo and visit the market, one of the most characteristic places where we will find typical Argentine products. After visiting the historical part of the city, we will go to the northern area in the green lung of Buenos Aires, visiting the parks of Palermo and the Recoleta neighborhood, famous for its Monumental Cemetery.

Day 6 – Asado and Tango night

Day 6 afternoon/evening is a personal experience led by your guide, Ezequiel: a private Asado on the rooftop with a Tango experience in the famous music/tango neighborhood of Palermo.

Experience the arts in Buenos Aires, starting with a tour of the historic opera house, Teatro Colón. Considered one of the ten best opera houses in the world by National Geographic, the Teatro Colón has the room with the best acoustics for opera and the second best for concerts in the world.

The Teatro Colón keeps secrets in every corner and living the experience of a Guided Tour is knowing a portion of its history of more than one hundred years at the service of Argentine and world culture. By touring the Hall, the Main Foyer, the Bust Gallery, and the Golden Hall, visitors can absorb amazing details about the architecture, the stairs, its sculptures, or vitreous.

Spend the afternoon at your leisure, preparing for your big evening plans. Later you’ll join your guide, Ezequiel, at the Argentina On The Go headquarters in the heart of the Palermo neighborhood. Ezequiel will host your authentic Argentinian night, on the rooftop! Talk music, culture, and tasting great wines paired with typical snacks.

The highlight of the night will be the live private performance of a Tango Quartet, La Runfla. The new wave of Tango, the new generations that are re-inventing Tango will perform, and, of course, discuss the history, the present, or any questions you may have!

Day 7 – Adios Buenos Aires

Sleep in and enjoy your late check out from the hotel. Today is at your leisure to check off your final Buenos Aires bucket list items before you head to the airport.
