Since its inception in 1980, more than $14 million has been contributed to organizations whose purpose is directly related to the treatment, patient assistance, and eradication of cancer.  Much of the costs to produce the auction are underwritten by corporate sponsors.  Individuals, wine producers and other businesses donate auction items, with the single objective of generating as much money as possible for cancer related programs.
 
American Cancer Society:
Camp Horizon - The American Cancer Society’s Camp Horizon is a camp for children who have or have had cancer.  Camp Horizon is designed to meet the special needs of children undergoing treatment, as well as offer a fun environment where they can participate in typical summertime activities.  In addition to a weeklong camp for children undergoing treatment, a camp program for siblings of current or former cancer patients is also offered.  Camp is provided free of all charge to all campers.

Hope Lodge - Getting the right care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home, often to a cancer treatment facility in another city. The American Cancer Society makes this difficult situation easier with free, temporary housing facilities for cancer patients who are undergoing treatment and their families.  Hope Lodges provide guests with private rooms, kitchen facilities, and transportation to treatments. The lodge has room for a family member to stay with the patient. Perhaps the most important thing that a Hope Lodge provides is a supportive and home-like environment which is conducive to the unique needs of its guests.

Dan Rudy Cancer Center:
Saint Thomas Hospital’s Dan Rudy cancer Center provides a firm foundation for its Oncology Program. Fully accredited, it houses the Radiation Oncology Department, the Brain and Spine Tumor Center and the Day Hospital, and offer quality cancer treatment in a compassionate environment separate from the main hospital.

Gilda’s Club:
The mission of Gilda’s Club is to provide meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer and their families and friends can join with others to build emotional and social support as a supplement to medical care.  Free of charge and non-profit, Gilda’s Club offers support and networking groups, lectures, workshops and social events in a non-residential, homelike setting.

Make-A-Wish Foundation:
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.  A network of more than 25,000 volunteers enable the Make-A-Wish Foundation to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fund raisers, special events assistants, and in numerous other capacities.

Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center:
The research programs of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center focus on the discovery of new approaches for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer. There are over 250 full or associate members in the center who belong to seven research programs. Some of these programs build on historical strengths at Vanderbilt. Others represent new opportunities for discovery and development.
